Brain Bar Recipe
This recipe is a staple in my family. We got it from a family friend and she called them brain bars, so the name stuck! This is our go to snack for pre-workout, post-workout, when you want a sweet treat but don't want to feel guilty, sometimes I'll eat them for breakfast....I mean you name the time and it's acceptable to eat this "cookie"! One of our family friends gave the recipe to us and they call them "Brain Bars", so that's what we refer to them as, but for the sake of normalcy and wanting you to believe me on how good these cookies actually are, I'm calling them protein cookies haha.
Ingredients:
1st set:
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla
2 over ripe bananas
2nd set:
2 eggs
2 cup oats
1 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup raisins (optional- but our family likes them)
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 TB baking powder
Instructions:
Mix first set of ingredients in mixer. Then add in the second set of ingredients. Beat until mixed well. Place on cookie sheet (they don't spread) so they can be close together. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes.
My batch made about 30 cookies, but it just depends on how big you want them! They lasted Adam and I all week which I would say is pretty good!!
If you make them, let me know what you think and tag me in your insta stories so I can see them! :)
