Strawberry Pretzel Jello
I love everything about Thanksgiving. From gathering with family, to reflecting on what you're thankful for, and of course the food. Always the food haha. Friendsgiving season is in full swing, so I thought I would give y'all the recipe to one of my family's yummy, yet easy dishes for Thanksgiving! Strawberry Pretzel Jello is salty and sweet. The perfect combo!
Ingredients
Crust:
2 cups crushed pretzels
¾ cup butter, melted
3TBL white sugar
Cream Layer:
1 8ox package cream cheese, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 8oz container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Strawberry Layer:
2- 3oz packages strawberry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
2 10oz packages frozen strawberries in syrup (or sugar)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Stir together crushed pretzels, melted butter and 3 TBL sugar. Mix well and press into the bottom of 9X13 baking dish Bake 8-10 minutes, allow to cool. In large mixing bowl, cream together cream cheese and 1 cup sugar. Fold in whipped topping. Spread mixture onto cooled crust. Be sure to spread it to the edges to seal off the crust. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in still frozen strawberries and allow to set briefly. When mixture is about the consistency of egg whites, pour and spread over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate until set
If you make it, let me know what you and your friends/family think!
