Shrimp Bow Tie Pasta

This is one of my favorite homemade meals to make, especially if I'm having guests over! It serves up to 6 people, is filling and is packed with flavor. The balance of the shrimp, bacon bits, and broccoli makes it a well rounded meal that the whole family will love.

I will warn you that there is a little bit of multi-tasking that goes into making this meal, but it will all be worth it in the end!

Shrimp Bow Tie Pasta

  • Cooking/Baking Sheet

  • Medium Pot

  • Large Pot

  • 1 box Bow Tie Pasta (You can choose any kind of pasta, we just like it best with bow tie!)

  • 3/4 cup Half and Half

  • 2 TBS Butter

  • 4 slices Chopped Bacon

  • 1 cup Broccoli (This is a rough estimate, you can add more or less depending on your preference.)

  • 1 package Frozen Mini Shrimp (I like to buy pre shelled, already cooked shrimp so that all I have to do is thaw it out.)

  • 1 TBS White Cooking Wine

  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)

  • Garlic Powder (to taste)

  • Shredded Parmesan Cheese

  1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees, and get a pot of boiling water ready for your pasta.

  2. Once water is boiling, throw pasta in and cook as directed on the box.

  3. While the pasta is cooking, throw your bacon and broccoli in the oven at 400 degrees. Pull the bacon out at desired crispiness (5-10 minutes max). Set them aside on a paper towel to dry off the grease, and then chop into bits. You can cook your bacon however you like, but I find the oven to be the quickest, least messy way to accomplish this!

  4. Pull the broccoli out of the oven around the 15-20 minute mark, or once they look softened.

  5. In a large pot, put frozen shrimp on medium heat and completely thaw out. Drain water afterwards.

  6. In the large pot with shrimp, add in the butter, half and half, and white cooking wine on medium heat for about 2-3 minutes, or until it thickens.

  7. Add in the salt, pepper and garlic powder.

  8. Once sauce is finished, you can mix in the pasta, broccoli and bacon bits, and then top with parmesan cheese!
